What you're buying

Your $500 payment at checkout is the first monthly charge of a recurring $500-per-month subscription to the DFY TikTok service. Stripe saves your card and auto-renews monthly on the same day of the month you signed up. If you signed up on the 29th, 30th, or 31st, Stripe will bill on the last day of any month that doesn't have that date (so a signup on the 31st of one month bills on the 28th of February in a non-leap year, then returns to the 31st in months that have it).

What is billed separately — the Content Wallet:

Once we have worked through the initial content library, generating NEW content from month two onward draws from your Content Wallet. The wallet is a separate balance held against your account, billed only when used. It typically lands in the $100 to $200 per-month range depending on the tier you selected at checkout (Light, Standard, or Heavy) and how aggressively we judge fresh material is needed; we do not spend the full balance every month, only what fits the posting plan.

The wallet billing system is currently being built into your customer portal. Until that interface ships and is announced to all enrolled customers, ongoing content generation from month two onward is included in your $500 base subscription at no separate charge. Once the wallet feature is live, we will give every active customer advance notice before activating separate wallet billing.

Cancellation timing matters: to stop the next monthly charge, your cancellation needs to reach us at least 7 calendar days before your renewal date. See the Cancellation and refunds section below for the full policy.

AI processing consent

When you upload your manuscript at checkout and tick the AI-consent checkbox, you authorize Indie Author Academy LLC to transmit your manuscript to third-party large-language-model APIs (Anthropic Claude and Google Gemini, both operating in the United States) to generate TikTok-style scene moments, titles, hooks, and companion copy. Both providers have processor agreements in place that prohibit training on customer data. The checkbox you ticked at checkout is the contractual record of this consent and its exact label text is hashed and recorded against your customer record at the moment of purchase. If you did not tick that checkbox, we cannot process your manuscript and checkout will not proceed.

Deliverables and metrics

Your subscription delivers 10 posts per day distributed across one to three authorized TikTok handles that you own, plus a weekly review summary delivered to your Slack channel and full transparency into what is posted and when.

We maintain two ongoing internal quality scores for the content our engine generates: a human-likeness calibration that measures whether posts read as natural human-written content rather than AI-shaped output, and an aggregate quality score across the emotional categories our engine optimizes for. Both scores are shared in your weekly Slack review on request. Neither is a performance guarantee of results on your specific book — TikTok is a discovery platform and discovery results vary widely by book, author, genre, and timing.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your DFY subscription at any time by sending an email to billing@indieauthormedia.com from the address on your Stripe receipt. Cancellations do not refund the billing period you are currently in — we keep posting through the end of that period, then stop billing and archive your data per the data-retention schedule in our Privacy Policy. We do not refund a month that has already been served; this is standard SaaS-style billing, consistent with the proportionate effort we spend provisioning fleet capacity, generating content, and distributing posts during the period.

To cancel before being charged for the next billing cycle, your request must reach us at least 7 calendar days before your renewal date. We require this 7-day window because our freelance posting and content creation team needs lead time to stop the writers, editors, and posting operators who would otherwise be producing your next month's content. A cancellation that arrives within 7 days of renewal will be processed for the following cycle — you will still be billed for the upcoming month, and we will keep posting through that period before closing out.

A failed renewal payment is treated as a same-day cancellation that did not meet the 7-day notice window. When Stripe is unable to charge your card on your renewal date, we pause DFY posting effective immediately because we cannot keep the freelance team in motion without coordinated notice. You can resume by updating your payment method and replying to the failure-notification email; we restart posting within 24 hours of a successful charge.

If you cancel before the first month is delivered in full, we will complete the month already paid for and will not bill you again.

There is no long-term contract.

Intellectual property

You retain every right you had in your manuscript before you sent it to us. You also retain every right in the scene-moment posts, hooks, titles, and slide companion copy that MIRA generates from your book. What you grant us is a narrow, non-exclusive, time-limited license during the service period to publish those generated posts on the TikTok handle or handles you authorized at intake, and to hold the generated assets in our pipeline for the purpose of performing the service. When you cancel, that license terminates prospectively. We do not claim ownership of your book, your posts, your readers, or your platform.

No sales or virality guarantee

TikTok is a discovery platform and discovery platforms do not work the same way for every book, every author, every genre, or every moment. We will not guarantee book sales, follower counts, view counts, Kindle Unlimited page reads, viral breakout posts, or any specific commercial outcome. We will guarantee that the posting volume tied to your wallet tier is delivered, that the generated content is calibrated against the quality numbers referenced above, and that you retain full transparency into what is posted and when. Anyone promising guaranteed TikTok virality for indie fiction is, in our experience, being dishonest.
